Frequently Asked Questions
The Science of Dilution, Answered
What is HANCER W’s specification?
HANCER W is a soft-water architecture of roughly 75 mg/L total minerals (design value), five food-grade mineral salts weighed to ±1% onto a demineralised base of under 5 mg/L, verified batch by batch by NABL-accredited analysis. Every mineral sits far below its measured taste-detection threshold; the full ion profile prints on every can at commercial lock.
Why not just use a good bottled water?
Bottled waters are designed for drinking neat, and their profiles are set by source geology, different by brand, site, and season. None is engineered for a spirit, and none is consistent. HANCER is a specification, not a source: the same locked profile in every can, in every city, at every serve ratio.
Does HANCER change the flavour of the whisky?
Nothing in HANCER can be tasted individually, every mineral is held roughly 5× to 50× below the concentration at which trained panels can detect it at all. It changes only the spirit’s concentration and company. Published research shows dilution itself moves aroma compounds to the surface of the drink; HANCER’s job is to deliver that physics with zero interference.
Why aluminium cans instead of glass?
The 250 ml nitrogen-sealed aluminium can blocks light, displaces oxygen, chills much faster than glass, and removes breakage risk in high-volume bar environments. The declared best-before is 12 months from packaging.
Is HANCER alcoholic?
No. HANCER contains no alcohol. It is an FSSAI-licensed, non-alcoholic engineered spirit water (LIC NO. 10726032000128), a formulated beverage built as an accessory for the spirits ritual. It is not packaged drinking water and not a mixer.
How should I serve it, a drop, a splash, or a pour?
Whichever suits the moment; the water is engineered to hold at all three. A fewdropsbreak the surface tension and open delicate aromas. A smallsplashreduces the strength slightly and softens the heat. A generouspourbuilds a classic highball. The three measures are printed on the can, and the Calibration Bench converts any pour size and bottle strength into millilitres. Best served chilled from the can (6–10°C for whisky); from warm stock the can chills in minutes.
Can I see the lab report?
Yes, and we would rather you did. Every batch is analysed by an independent NABL-accredited laboratory, and we will send you the full report along with the complete ion profile and the methods used. Request it here and a member of our team will email it within two working days.
Do you offer discounts or promotional pricing?
We do not run coupon codes, flash sales or time-limited promotions. The one standing saving is the subscription, which takes 10% off for as long as it stays active. Multipack pricing is our everyday price, not an offer that expires. For venues, we support listings with bartender education, sampling and placement support rather than discounting.
Where do you ship?
Online orders ship pan-India from Vadodara, Gujarat. Rates and delivery estimates are shown at checkout. [SERVICEABLE PIN CODES TBC AT D2C LAUNCH]
Is one water really right for both a Scotch dram and an Indian highball?
Yes, and for a specific reason. Every mineral in HANCER sits far below the concentration at which trained panels can detect it, calcium roughly 24× below its measured threshold. Because nothing in the water is above threshold at the can’s own concentration, nothing can rise above threshold in the glass either, however much you add: at the longest serve every mineral still stays 25–30× below detection. A heavily mineralised water might pass at a 10 ml splash and fail at a 4× pour. This one cannot, because it was designed against the threshold rather than against a ratio.
Do you make a version for vodka or tequila?
Not at present. HANCER is focused on a single product, blending water calibrated for whisky. If that changes, it will be announced here and on the Journal.
I run a venue or distribute beverages. How do I stock HANCER?
Through our trade enquiries page. Trade supply runs separately from the online store, with its own terms, education sessions, and allocation process.
